- Two years after the COVID-19 pandemic cut short one season and a year after it canceled a second, Anne Arundel County Public Schools winter sports student-athletes are on the verge of a return to a full in-person competitive campaign. Full schedules of contests begin today, (Monday, Dec. 6), with county high schools fielding teams in basketball, wrestling, indoor track, swimming, cheerleading, and bowling. Spectators will be permitted in all venues but must be masked at all times while in those venues. (Press Release Desk )
- The American Christmas Tree Association advises shoppers to get a tree earlier than usual this year. The supply of trees will be tight due to supply chain delays and a poor growing season in the Pacific Northwest. - Authorities are on the lookout for a missing mother and son that was last seen in Washington D.C. The 38-year-old Helen Brooks and 5-year-old Ezekiel Brooks reported missing last Saturday, at 10:30 a.m. There were last seen at the 4200 block of Maryland Pl., 21229., and the mother drives a red 2009 Volkswagen Jetta MD registration 7DZ9236. If you have any information on where they are or if you spot the mother and son please call 911 immediately. (w2marnews)
- In efforts to address fire safety concerns, Mayor Brandon Scott joined chief Niles Ford and the Baltimore City Fire Department for a Citywide Smoke Alarm Sweep. The Mayor and the firefighters canvassed communities throughout Baltimore City to address fire safety concerns, assist residents with home escape plans and installed smoke alarms where needed. They met Saturday morning at 1500 N. Patterson Park Avenue which is the site of where a fatal fire that occurred last month. (w2marnews)
