- Anne Arundel County officials urged residents to shop local on Small Business Saturday, which was on Nov. 27. American Express started the unofficial holiday in 2010. Americans Spent about $ 20 billion during the event, but this year could be equally important for establishments still recovering from the coronavirus pandemic. (Patch)
- Officers attempted to make an arrest of a murder suspect last evening in Baltimore. On Nov. 26, officers attempted to arrest a murder suspect on the 1200 block of Loyola Northway. The suspect barricaded himself inside the location and used a firearm to discharge several rounds in the direction of law enforcement. No civilians or law enforcement were injured at the scene. - One educator from every public school and some private schools in Northern Anne Arundel County have been nominated by their principal for outstanding achievement. Each educator receives an award on stage. Event includes plated dinner and cash bar. The 45 schools are sponsored by a local business or organization who receives tickets to sit with the honorees and participate in the award presentation. Town Hall attendees are encouraged to share their thoughts about approaches at the local level that can help combat the opioid crisis and save lives. This event is open to the public. All are welcome. Town halls will feature presentations from Maryland's Opioid Operational Command Center (OOCC) and representatives from the Maryland Department of Health and other state agencies. Town halls will be held in-person and will adhere to all state and local COVID-19 public health guidance. All attendees must wear masks. (Stay Happening)
