Ravens' Rice Touts Breakfast Essentials at Glen Burnie School

Rice will speak with students about the importance of eating breakfast every day and staying active.

Students at Hilltop Elementary in Glen Burnie are about to get a visit from Baltimore Ravens Running Back Ray Rice.

Rice will visit students Tuesday to underscore the importance of providing school breakfasts to students as part of the Maryland Meals for Achievement (MMFA) program.

Rice will speak with students about the importance of eating breakfast every day and staying active. He will eat breakfast with the kids and then they will all take part in some physical activities. Rice will also be sharing tips to help students get moving for at least 60 minutes a day, according to the release.

The program recently received an additional $100,000 in grant funding, which will provide a total of 3,400 more breakfast meals at Anne Arundel County Schools, according to a press release.

The additional grant funding to MMFA came from a $40,000 grant from the Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association, and a $60,000 grant from the Share our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign, according to the release.
