UPDATED: Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued for Northern Anne Arundel County

According to the National Weather Service, the storm, which is in effect until 2:45 p.m., could produce half dollar-size hail and damaging winds.

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a severe thunderstorm warning Sunday afternoon for northern Anne Arundel County that is expected to last until 2:45 p.m.

According to NWS, the storm is capable of producing half dollar-sized hail and winds up to 70 mph in areas including Ferndale, Odenton, Gambrills, Severn, Fort Meade, Hanover and the area surrounding Thurgood Marshal BWI Airport.

NWS considers the storm to be dangerous. Residents in its path are encouraged to move indoors and stay away from windows.
