Here are the top stories in Glen Burnie today:

  1. The Anne Arundel County Police Department has opened an investigation into the armed robbery of an elderly man in Glen Burnie. On Nov. 24, at approximately 9:30 p.m., officers responded for a robbery of a citizen in the 1600 block of Heathwood Road in Glen Burnie. The 75-year-old male victim was outside working on his vehicle when he was approached by two suspects. One of the suspects implied they had a handgun. The suspects then searched the victim and took his vehicle keys and fled on foot. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects. The suspects were described as two black males wearing dark clothing. (Newsbreak)
  2. With mail delays, supply chain issues, and shortages, consumers are likely to receive package delivery updates, but not all of them are real. Fake shipping notifications are also on the rise.
Like most people, Chana Rosenblat’s mom was expecting a package. “She went through her emails, and she saw something from USPS, so she immediately responded,” Rosenblat said. The alert said they attempted to deliver, but no one was home. The email provided a re-delivery option for a fee. “And they said there was a $3 fee,” Rosenblat said. (W2MARNEWS)
  3. The BioMedical Allied Health Magnet High School at Glen Burnie High School is an educational choice allowing students who are highly motivated and academically eligible to study and explore career opportunities across the spectrum of health care professions. In conjunction with excellent coursework options, a quality part of a health care-bound students' education is interaction with medical/allied health professionals in a job shadow or internship setting where mentoring and simulated practice with technology relevant to a targeted health care area is central to the experience.
