Suspects Shoot at Victim During Glen Burnie Assault

In a separate incident, police said a male suspect robbed a Glen Burnie KFC on Wednesday.

Glen Burnie: Assault, shots fired

Anne Arundel County police said two male suspects fired shots as they chased a victim on Wednesday night in Glen Burnie. Police believe the victim was targeted.

According to a police press release, officers responded to the 400 block of Secluded Post Circle in Glen Burnie at about 10:40 p.m. for a report of shots fired. Officers spoke with a 22-year-old man who said he was getting out of his vehicle when two male suspects demanded the man come over to them.

Police said the man sensed something was wrong and ran from them. While chasing the man, police said one of the suspects shot several rounds from a handgun but the victim was not shot.

Police said the suspects caught up to the man at a park and hit him with the handgun. The victim was able to escape and the suspects ran toward Elvaton Road.

Officers and a K-9 unit searched the area but were unable to find the suspects, police said. The victim was taken to where he was treated for injuries that were not life threatening.

Glen Burnie: Robbery

A male suspect robbed a Glen Burnie KFC at gunpoint Wednesday night, police said.

According to a police press release, officers responded to the restaurant in the 6700 block of Ritchie Highway at about 9:30 p.m. for a reported robbery. Officers spoke with KFC employees who said a man armed with a handgun approached them and demanded money.

The employees complied and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash before he ran near Vernon Avenue toward Furnace Branch Road, police said.

Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
