Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS) announced the continued closure of three Glen Burnie schools. Due to power outages, seven schools will be closed Thursday. In the Glen Burnie area, , and schools will be closed. Essential and emergency AACPS personnel at the closed schools should report to work as required, according to a press release. The school system acknowledged that some ongoing issues from Tropical Storm Irene could impede getting children to school in a timely manner Thursday, including traffic light outages, bus delays and traffic backups. AACPS officials urged parents to use extreme caution and allow additional time to get their children to the bus stop or school.
