Volunteers to Help County Homeless on Saturday
Anne Arundel County's sixth annual Homeless Resource Day takes place Saturday at Glen Burnie High School.

The homeless in Anne Arundel County will get some help Saturday securing transportation, medical services, housing, job assistance and other access to increase their quality of life for the year ahead.
This is all thanks to the volunteers, local leaders, non-profits and businesses involved in the sixth annual Homeless Resource Day, which will take place starting at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Glen Burnie High School.
"This event has been very successful in helping people get back on their feet and off the street," said Marcia Kennai, director of the county's Department of Social Services, in a press release. "The economy has been very difficult and we have seen a significant impact on children and families."
Kennai said the event has helped struggling residents in the past with things from haircuts to acquiring birth certificates and job placement.
The Partnership Board to End Homelessness in Anne Arundel County organizes the event, this year coordinating 80 service providers and 450 volunteers who will help those in need on Saturday.
Volunteer registration is closed, but anyone who still wants to make donations of food and toiletries can drop of the goods at GBHS from 4-5 p.m. Friday.
If you have questions about this event, please call 410-269-4749.
