Kidnapping Conspirator Sentenced For 2021 Abduction From MD Casino And Hotel

A D.C. man was sentenced for his role in the February 2021 kidnapping from a Maryland casino and hotel in February 2021.

GREENBELT, MD — Christopher Allen Young, also known as “40,” was sentenced to 126 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, for his role in the Feb. 3, 2021 kidnapping at a Maryland casino and hotel, according to a court release.

Young pleaded guilty on Feb. 18, to conspiracy to commit kidnapping. As part of the plea agreement, the 26-year-old Washington, D.C. man said he and Darius “Mup” Young, Anthony Hebron, Lamar Perkins, and an unnamed co-conspirator, plotted to kidnap a victim from a Maryland casino and hotel.

On Feb. 3, 2021, Hebron and the unnamed co-conspirator met the victim at the casino and hotel with the false promise of obtaining women for the victim if they accompanied them to Southeast Washington, D.C., according to court documents. Around 7:30 a.m., the victim left with Hebron and the co-conspirator in the latter's car.

Young admitted that at 8:12 a.m., he received a call from Hebron and then a minute later called Mup to tell him that the victim had been snatched. In addition, he told Mup he would split the proceeds of the robbery between Hebron and the co-conspirator and then pay Mup his share. Young also told Mup that if the victim “gets feisty, I don’t want to have to crush him," according to court documents.

Once the car arrived in Southeast, Young and Mup got inside and Hebron pointed a gun at the victim. Young and the others took the victim's personal items, including a cellphone, wallet and a watch valued at around $500. They also took the key to the victim's hotel room and demanded the code to open the room' safe, according to authorities.

At first, the victim refused to give them the code, but Hebron hit the victim in the head with the gun. The victim then gave them the code.

Young and Mup removed the victim from the car and Hebron and the co-conspirator drove back to the casino and hotel. The victim was taken at gunpoint to the boiler room of a nearby apartment building, where Young and Mup assaulted the victim, according to the plea agreement. They demanded the PIN number of the victim's ATM card and the location of items inside the victim's hotel room, according to court documents.

Authorities said members of the conspiracy were caught on surveillance video leaving the victim's hotel room with a backpack and roller suitcase. These contained items taken from the room, including an Xbox, at least $1,500 in casino chips and about $6,000 in cash, according to the plea agreement.

When Young and Mup learned that the other members of the conspiracy had left the hotel room, they exited the boiler room, leaving the victim behind.

A short time later, police officers found the victim in the vicinity of the apartment building. Blood was running down his face from a wound on their forehead, according to a release. The victim was also suffering from a broken nose and injuries on their mouth and eye.

After the kidnapping and assault occurred, Young and the other members of the conspiracy discussed the incident over the phone. Young told the others not to worry about the victim going to the police, because he and Mup had threatened the victim, according to the plea agreement.

“If the police come, or anything come, I got your address. Mom…your little brother, all them is gone!” Young said to the victim, according to court documents.
