If you dropped by the Greenbelt Variety Store in Roosevelt Center today, you may have noticed the doors were locked and that a handwritten sign announced its closing. When asked by Patch why the store closed, James Jaffe, property manager for the space, answered, "because they don't pay." Jaffe also said that the doors were closed on June 30, "so the space will be available immediately." Parties interested in occupying the space can call 202.465.2695, Jaffe said.
