2 Burned In HdG House Fire: Susquehanna Hose Company

Two Havre de Grace residents were hospitalized with "severe burns," according to firefighters.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — Two people were hospitalized after a house fire in Havre de Grace Sunday morning, according to authorities.

Before 4:30 a.m., the Susquehanna Hose Company said it was called to a house fire in the 1600 block of Algonquin Court.

Fire was showing from the back of the home in the Shawnee Brooke subdivision, officials reported.

Crews extinguished the fire from all floors, and two people were taken to the hospital with severe burns, the hose company said.

Firefighters from Aberdeen, Level, Perryville, Bel Air, Rising Sun and Perry Point helped battle the blaze, and the Havre de Grace Ambulance Corps also responded to provide aid.

The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause.
