City Council: Proposed Hospital Zoning Changes

Havre de Grace City Council meets at 7 p.m. Monday at City Hall.

Monday's City Council meeting will open with a public hearing on the proposed changes to the city's water and sewer rates, and also include ordinances pertaining to the city's road code, tax rate and taxicab industry.

The final meeting before Tuesday's municipal election will begin at 7 p.m. at .

The Mayor and City Council are expected to propose a 58-cent tax rate—a one-cent decrease from the current rate.

A presentation from planning commission chairman Curtis Coon will reveal proposed changes to the MOE zoning at the proposed site for a new Upper Chesapeake hospital.

John Giganti will make a presentation on along Joe Hill Drive and Grace Manor Drive.

Ron Hendricks will make a presentation on behalf of Tree City USA.

Ordinances up for a second reading include two pertaining to the Harford County road code, and one concerning taxicabs. Ordinances regarding the city's tax rate and backflow protection to the city's water supply are due for introduction.

Mayor Wayne Dougherty will present the financial results from the third quarter.

Two students—'s Matthew Hauf and 's Tara Brown—will be honored with student of the month recognitions.
