Gift Card Program In HdG Is 'Rousing Success,' Organizers Say

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — A promotion to encourage people to shop locally in Havre de Grace during the holidays has paid off.

Due to the interest in the Havre de Grace Gift Card Program, the promotion ended weeks early.

For shoppers who spent $100 at participating merchants, the Havre de Grace Alliance offered $20 gift cards starting Nov. 27.

"Our promotional gift card giveaway has been nothing short of a rousing success!" organizers reported Dec. 1, announcing there were fewer than 100 gift cards remaining. "Don't delay if you want to take advantage of it. Shop in Havre de Grace today!"

The initiative ended Sunday, Dec. 5.

In a little more than a week, the Havre de Grace Alliance reported it had given away nearly 300 gift cards, and the offer was over.

The promotion was made possible by a grant from the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development as part of the Maryland Strong Economic Recovery Initiative.
