Lewis Lane Closing To All Traffic at Route 40

Residents will be unable to access homes located off Lewis Lane.

Lewis Lane will soon be closed at U.S. Route 40 for construction.

The project will last about two months, and would take begin on or about April 30—impacting the 1500 block of Lewis Lane Extended, according to an announcement from . 

According to a statement from the city: "The construction will greatly improve the character of the roadway and sidewalks will be added during the process."

Aside from the road closure, other traffic changes will be put into place:

  • Grace Manor Drive will become one way between Chapel Road and Joe Hill Drive. Drivers will need to use this route to gain access to Grace Manor, Havre de Hills and Halls Road.
  • Joe Hill Drive will become one way from Grace Manor Drive to Chapel Road. Drivers will utilize this route to access Chapel Road from Grace Manor and Havre de Hills, as well as Halls Road.

The city said the improvements are being made with street safety and roadway efficiency in mind.
