SOFTBALL: Warriors Smoke Mariners, 20-4

Havre de Grace had 19 hits, including two homers in the win.

The had 19 hits en route to a 20-4 win against Joppatowne Thursday.

Taylor Smith (3-for-4, six RBIs, two runs) and Hailey Bethke (3-for-4, triple, five RBIs, run, walk) each homered to help power the offense.

Megan Thompson (2-for-3, two RBIs, run), Kaitlyn Husfelt (2-for-3, double, run), Tori Caine (2-for-3, triple, three runs, two RBIs, two walks) and Emily Lewis (2-for-5, RBI) also had multi-hit games for the Warriors.

Rebecca Ashman singled, walked four times and reached on an error, scoring five times and driving home another run.

Hayley Kitts allowed hits to the first three batters of the game, but didn't surrender any base hits after that as the Warriors cruised to the win. Kitts struck out seven and walked one.

Riley Arnold (1-for-4, two runs), Alison Lewis (1-for-1, run, walk), Kayla Vaughan (1-for-2, double, RBI, run, walk) and Kitts (1-for-3, two runs, two walks) also had hits.

Kelsey McRoberts and Dana Teufer both had a walk and a run scored.

Havre de Grace improved to 10-5 and looks for an 11th win at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Aberdeen.
