Cockeysville Middle Teacher Heads to Space Camp

A teacher is exploring new frontiers.

Eighth grade science Jennifer Youngblood is participating in the Honeywell Educators Space Academy, a program dedicated to professional development and simulated space training, according to a news release. 

Youngblood was one of 185 teachers selected from around the world to join the summer program, the release states. The program—aimed at promoting science, technology, education and math, or STEM education—will include activities such as a high-performance jet simulation, interactive flight dynamics programs and a scenario-based space mission.

Since the program's inception in 2004 as a collaboration between Honeywell and the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Alabama, 1,650 teachers have participated in the initiative.
