Rebel Racers To Converge on Monkton

A different kind of race is coming to Monkton.

On July 7, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., races will take place every half hour for the 5K Rebel Race, according to the event website. At 3 p.m., a 15K is scheduled to kick off.

Rebel Race features a military-style obstacle course, which includes mud-crawling, rope-swinging and wall-climbing, and is recommended for extreme athletes, according to the website.

Registration costs are $85 for the 5K and $105 for the 15K, but Groupon is offering a deal until June 25 where customers can compete for $29 and $30 respectively. Spectators are invited to attend the race at no cost.

Other race events include a weekend long party, fireworks and campfires, according to the website. Participants can camp out at the site, located at 4101 Stansbury Mill Road, starting at 5:30 p.m. July 6.
