• Several families without heat, power at Hyattsville condominium complex (fox5dc.com) — Several families at the Marylander Condominium complex off Riggs Road in Hyattsville are enduring weeks without heat and, for at least one building, a recent loss of power during bitter cold. Management blames aging infrastructure and suspected vandalism, while residents describe unsafe temperatures and long delays. County officials are aware and offering limited help, but major repairs could cost millions and take time.

• Man Bites Police Officer During Arrest In Domestic Violence Incident (patch.com) — Hyattsville police say an officer was bitten while arresting a man after a reported domestic violence call on the 3400 block of East-West Highway earlier this month. The suspect allegedly ran to Heurich Park, fought officers, and was tased before being taken to a hospital and then the county Department of Corrections. No additional injuries to officers or bystanders were reported.
