4 Taken To Hospital After Holiday Inn Evacuated
The Holiday Inn in Laurel was evacuated after a strong odor linked to cleaning supplies resulted in some illnesses, authorities said.

LAUREL, MD — The Holiday Inn in Laurel has been evacuated, and four people were taken to the hospital after becoming sick from a strong odor linked to cleaning supplies.
Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department responded to the Holiday Inn & Suites, at 14402 Laurel Place in Laurel, at about 6:10 p.m., according to the Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department Twitter page. Initial reports indicated a strong odor from the chlorine from the indoor people was making people sick.
Three adults and one child was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries that are not considered life-threatening, and 20 people were evaluated by paramedics at the scene, according to authorities.

Authorities determined the cause of the incident to be from the odor of cleaning supplies, according to the Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department Twitter page.
The building has been evacuated, and a Hazmat team was at the scene, according to authorities.
