Report: Homeless, Former Laurel Resident Arrested in Virginia
According to The Daily Progress, a man with Laurel roots was charged with multiple counts in Charlottesville.

A 23-year-old homeless man, formerly of Laurel, was arrested in Charlottesville, VA, Monday and charged with attempted murder, The Daily Progress reports.
Samuel Erik Wheless, 23, was being held on allegations of "attempted murder, brandishing a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, use of a firearm while committing a felony and sexual battery," the paper reported.

The female victim told police that Wheless touched her in an "inappropriate manner," the Progress stated, and that when another male confronted Wheless he pulled out a gun.
Wheless is being held in Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail, the paper stated.
