Laurel Lifts Face Covering Requirement In City Buildings, Masks Needed On County Vehicles

Face coverings will no longer be needed in city of Laurel buildings but will be required on public transportation still.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Effective Monday, Feb. 28, face coverings will no longer be required in city of Laurel buildings and facilities. However, all senior van transportation drivers, along with other public transportation drivers and all passengers must wear face coverings while riding in vehicles.

Meetings that include the mayor, city council, city boards, commissions and advisory committees will continue to meet virtually until March 28 at which time they will return to in-person, announced Laurel Mayor Craig Moe.

As of Monday, Prince George's County reported 168,848 COVId-19 cases.
