Laurel Motorcyclist Killed In Rockville Crash, Police Say

A man was killed in a crash in Rockville Saturday night, police said. He is identified as Hector Ernesto Giron Lara, 34, of Laurel.

ROCKVILLE, MD — A Laurel man driving a motorcycle was killed in a crash in Rockville Saturday night, Montgomery County Police report.

Police were called to Norbeck Road at Nadine Drive in Rockville at about 9:16 p.m. Saturday for the report of a crash. Officers transported Hector Ernesto Giron Lara, 34, to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Lara was driving a 2004 Harley Davidson Sportster motorcycle east on Norbeck Road. For reasons still under investigation, the motorcycle collided with a 2011 Toyota Camry that was being driven south on Nadine Drive at Norbeck Road, police said.

The Toyota was driven by a 17-year-old female with a 14-year-old male passenger. They were not injured, police said.

This collision remains under investigation. Investigators are urging anyone who witnessed this collision to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240.773.6620.
