Residences at Vantage Point Hosts Informative Series on Planning for the Future During Retirement
Finances in Retirement features a panel discussion by industry experts on Thursday, Sept. 25

Residences at Vantage Point is hosting a new Compass Seminar Series, including informative sessions designed to help people plan for the future during retirement.
The next program in the series is Finances in Retirement, a panel discussion featuring Dave Hedrick and Jackie Hopkins of Finance Stages and other professionals on Thursday, Sept. 25, 10 a.m. Topics will include:
- Tools to manage your income and assets.
- How to plan for future health care costs.
- How to know if you can afford to live at a retirement community
Karen Lawlor and Beth Ditman of the Wendy Slaughter Team will discuss the “State of Real Estate” on Thursday, Oct. 9, 10 a.m. Topics will include:

- What’s going on in the local real estate market?
- Is now a good time to sell?
- What about interest rates?
- How do I choose the right Realtor?

Joy Loverde, author of “Who Will Take Care of Me When I’m Old” and the bestselling “The Complete Eldercare Planner,” is the guest speaker on Thursday, Oct. 23. Loverde will lead two sessions on everything you need to know to be your own best caregiver. Participants can choose 10 a.m. or 2 p.m. Topics will include:
- How can I accept and adapt to the curveballs of old age?
- What are my options for housing?
- How do I finance a longer life?
- Who will my caregivers be, and how can I find them?
- How can I live as I want for as long as possible?
All attendees will receive a complimentary copy of Loverde’s books.

Residences at Vantage Point is home to over 250 residents. It was founded in 1990 and is a nonprofit serving people age 60 and above. Managed by Life Care Services, the community includes a variety of residential living arrangements from studio to two-bedroom deluxe apartments.
