Residences at Vantage Point Hosts Informative Series on Planning for the Future During Retirement

Residences at Vantage Point is hosting a new Compass Seminar Series, including four informative sessions designed to help people plan for the future during retirement.

“Retirement Living Options” is set for Thursday, Sept. 11, 10 a.m. Presented by Patti Hutton, Director of Marketing for Residences at Vantage Point, the topics will include:

• What should I consider when researching senior living options?
• Important insights into how to make the best decision for you and your family
• What is a Life Plan/Continuing Care Retirement Community?
• Contract types, pricing options and how do they compare to staying in my own home
• Question & Answer session with current residents

The second program in the series is Finances in Retirement, a panel discussion featuring Dave Hedrick and Jackie Hopkins of Finance Stages and other professionals on Thursday, Sept. 25, 10 a.m. Topics will include:

• Tools to manage your income and assets.
• How to plan for future health care costs.
• How to know if you can afford to live at a retirement community

Karen Lawlor and Beth Ditman of the Wendy Slaughter Team will discuss the “State of Real Estate” on Thursday, Oct. 9, 10 a.m. Topics will include:

• What's going on in the local real estate market
• What’s going on in the local real estate market?
• Is now a good time to sell?
• What about interest rates?
• How do I choose the right Realtor?
• Does my home need improvements before I sell?
• Does my current home meet my needs today (less maintenance, ability to age in place)?

Joy Loverde, author of “Who Will Take Care of Me When I’m Old” and the bestselling “The Complete Eldercare Planner,” is the guest speaker on Thursday, Oct. 23. Loverde will lead two sessions on everything you need to know to be your own best caregiver. Participants can choose 10 a.m. or 2 p.m. Topics will include:

• How can I accept and adapt to the curveballs of old age?
• What are my options for housing?
• How do I finance a longer life?
• Who will my caregivers be, and how can I find them?
• How can I live as I want for as long as possible?

Residences at Vantage Point is home to over 250 residents. It was founded in 1990 and is a nonprofit serving people age 60 and above. Managed by Life Care Services, the community includes a variety of residential living arrangements from studio to two-bedroom deluxe apartments.
