The comptroller will detail plans for 'Shop Maryland' on Wednesday.

Comptroller Peter Franchot will appear at Mondawmin Mall on Wednesday to announce plans for Shop Maryland, the state's tax-free week.
From 12:01 a.m. Aug. 12 through midnight Aug. 18, customers don't have to pay the state's six percent sales tax for qualifying clothing and shoes that costs $100 or less, according to a news release from the comptrollers office. A list of exempt and taxable items can be viewed on the comptroller's website.
Franchot, local elected officials and retail industry representatives will be at center court in the mall at 10:30 a.m. to provide details, the release reads.
