'185 for Heroes' Launches Blog
The run to benefit wounded troops is set for Sept. 15-21.

A group that organizes an annual 185-mile run to support wounded service members has launched a new blog to keep people up to date on its activities.Â
185 for Heroes now offers frequent online updates at 185forheroesblog.org.Â
The group was founded by Odenton residents Clay Anderson and his sister, Ashley Ackenhausen, both of whom have served in the Navy. Each year, they organize a 7-day run along the C&O Canal Trail, raising funds for Wounded Warriors.Â
The 2013 run will take place from Sept. 15-21 and feature two runners and a bicycle support team. 185 for Heroes is also recruiting "Virtual Teams" to run a collective 185 miles during the week.Â
The 2011 team included Odenton resident Don Snook and his brother, Chris.Â
