Alice Cooper Was Right
Our week in review takes you back at the latest and greatest from Severn Patch.

As a middle school student, I stumbled across my father’s records and CDs. He enjoyed Styx, The Eagles and any of the dozen groups with Eric Clapton. However, when I first watched VH1 and saw a picture of Alice Cooper, I remember asking my dad, “What’s his deal?”
He was puzzled and almost shocked that I hadn’t heard of the classic rock star, most known for his outlandish looks and makeup that would make Lady Gaga jealous.
However, after my dad introduced me to “School’s Out For Summer,” I never needed another soundtrack for the last day of school. It became an anthem for me as I would pull away from school, whether in a school bus or my own 1997 Ford Windstar—baller all the way.

For some, summer is a time to relax and just let the time breeze by like a cool wind on the beach. But for two local teachers, it’s a time where.
Two teachers, Kurt Hoffman of Jessup Elementary and Rob Bosch of Severn’s Ridgeway Elementary, perform in the summer in a rock band called Legacy. The group plays classic rock tunes from the '70s and '90s. Ranging from Alice in Chains to Van Halen, the band performs at local gigs and especially enjoys the summer as they concentrate on doing what they love.

Lauren Greenhill, a fourth grade student from Ridgeway Elementary, swam 100 yards, biked four miles and ran one mile in just 30 minutes to take fourth place in last weekends Truxton Youth Triathlon.
She said she does it because she likes being healthy, but I’m sure there’s an ounce of her that knows such training will help her achieve her goal of attending the Naval Academy.
In other news, the Anne Arundel County Community College locations in Arnold and Glen Burnie were evacuated after a , and some it out at this weekend’s Bowie Baysox game.
Where Darth Vader was, I have no idea. Maybe he went tanning. Have you seen that guy, man needs some sun.
