BASKETBALL: Arundel Teams Stay Perfect in County
Austin Carroll led the Wildcats with 18 points as the boys won 61-50 over Severna Park. The girls also won, 54-44.

The Arundel High boys basketball team continued its strong play against county foes, topping the Severna Park Falcons 61-50 behind 18 points by senior guard Austin Carroll.Â
The Wildcats used a strong inside game and stingy defense to outlast Severna Park and move to 9-1 on the season. Arundel is now 5-0 against county opponents.Â
Arundel led 14-7 after the first quarter and extended its lead to 14 midway through the third quarter. Severna Park rallied to cut the lead to eight, but Arundel grabbed momentum back in the waning minutes of the fourth quarter after Carroll stole the ball and scored on an easy layup.Â

Severna Park's Taylor Kitzmiller led all scorers with 24 points, as he drained five three-pointers. Ben Agee added 10 points.Â
Kordell Wells scored 11 points for Arundel, while Marcus Olphant had 13 points.

Ballard Powers Arundel GirlsÂ
The Lady Wildcats moved to 6-3 with a 54-44 win over the Falcons, and are now 5-0 in county play. Kela Ballard scored 21 points to lead all players and Natasha Oliver had 12.Â
Hannah Carroll had 16 points for Severna Park.Â
Both Arundel teams will face South River on Wednesday in Edgewater.Â
