As a Maryland native, I'm a big fan of seafood. Where do you go to satisfy your fish cravings?

Timbuktu has really good crab cakes. It may take a while to get a table without a reservation, but the food is well worth the wait. Ranging from seared salmon to their famous crab cakes, anyone dreaming of the sea needs to look no further than Timbuktu. Plus, it's located just outside of Severn in Hanover.

If you're willing to drive a few minutes,  serves oysters, shrimp, lobster and crab appetizers, soups, salads, pastas, sandwiches, chicken, steak and veal for lunch and dinner. The spacious restaurant also has a sports bar and lounge.

There's another hot-spot in Odenton called the . It's a bit hard to find, but tucked in a corner in old Odenton is the best place to get steamed crabs by the bushel and a wide variety of other seafood. Their crabcakes are for real, and they have great fish sandwiches and platters. People have been known to go in just for their hush puppies, too. 

Personally, I've never been to the Seaside Restaurant & Crab House, but our Glen Burnie editor Maya Prabhu said it's quite nice.

"Best known for its steamed crabs, almost every Glen Burnie resident has stopped through at least once," Prabhu said.
