Severn Man Charged in 2009 Virginia Murder
Arlington County Police arrested 20-year-old Severn resident, Roger K. Clark III along with Javon Martin of Washington D.C.
A Severn man is being charged with murder in connection with a 2009 homicide in Virginia after police concluded 18 months of investigations, according to the Arlington County Police Department.
In a public statement released on Monday, police said 20-year-old Severn resident Roger K. Clark III was arrested on June 6, along with Javon Martin, 24, of Washington D.C.
The release said that around 2:50 a.m. on December 29, 2009, police were notified of an injured man on the street outside of a health club on N 13th Street in Arlington. The man was identified as 57-year-old Carl Diener. Police said had suffered trauma to the upper body, according to Det. Crystal Nosal in an interview with Bob Barnard of Fox news.

Diener’s death was a shock to the community and his family and friends took up a collection of $25,000 for information that would lead to an arrest, according to the release.
Detectives of the Arlington County Police Department worked alongside the Washington Field Office of the FBI, the United States Marshalls Service, the Montgomery County Police and the Metropolitan Police Department.
