Color Guards Shine at Arundel 'Indoor Spectacular'

The Arundel High color guard performed along with several other groups Saturday at the Arundel Indoor Spectacular.

The Arundel High color guard hosted groups from all around the region Saturday at the first-ever Arundel Indoor Spectacular. 

The show featured a total of seven groups performing dance, percussion and color guard routines.

  • Glen Burnie High's tribute to Dr. Who, the British television program, featuring percussionists from the school.
  • Smyrna High School's dance mash-up of songs with the theme "Empower," and a performance set to the song "Save Me" by Evanescence.
  • Interpretation of selections from The Lion King, by the the Pikesville group "In Progress."
  • A performance from the Pikesville-based group "In Theory," based on the theme "What is Time?"

The Arundel color guard capped off the afternoon with its performance of "Be Yourself," which tells the story of a young girl whose dolls come to life. The award-winning performance features a rousing routine set to the song "Barbie Girl" by Aqua.
