Committee to Get Update on Fort Meade Transformation

The man overseeing the ongoing transformation at Fort Meade will brief the public on the latest growth at the installation next week.

Bert Rice, the transformation manager at Fort Meade, will present to the Odenton Town Center Plan Oversight Committee on Tuesday. 

According to a draft agenda of the meeting, Rice will offer some insight into how the growth on base will impact the traffic and economy of the Odenton area. 

Also on Tuesday, the committee will continue its discussion about identifying small, but meaningful transportation projects that can be carried out Odenton. The committee will eventually draft a list of prioritized projects to county officials, in the hopes that they will be given priority in the capital budget for fiscal year 2015. 

The town center committee meets Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Western District Police Station, located at 8273 Telegraph Road in Odenton.
