Fire Engulfs Vacant House on Old Waugh Chapel
A firefighter suffered a minor laceration.
A fire tore through a vacant house on Old Chapel Road on Friday afternoon, bringing 50 firefighters to the scene.Â
According to Capt. Mike Pfaltzgraff of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department, firefighters responded at about 1:35 p.m. to the 600 block of Old Waugh Chapel Road. Initial reports indicated the fire was coming from some nearby woods, but firefighters quickly learned it stemmed from a two-story single family home.Â
About 50 firefighters from the county and BWI Airport were called to the scene.Â
The house was reportedly vacant, but a 28-year-old firefighter suffered a minor laceration on the scene and was transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center.Â
Investigators remained on the scened Friday to determine a cause of the fire.Â
