Fort Meade Opens New Veterans Health Clinic

Officiais dedicated the $4.7 million facility, one of the first of its kind on a military base.

Fort Meade officially opened its new Veterans Administration outpatient clinic on Monday, featuring 21 rooms meant to serve the 80,000 veterans living in the area.

The $4.7 million facility will have audiology and optometry services, along with mental health and social work services.

The Baltimore Sun reported that the clinic will advance efforts to serve the growing number of female veterans. In addition to basic medical care, it will offer three-dimensional mammograms—something offered by few facilities anywhere in Maryland.
