Fort Meade to Hold 'Listening Session' on Force Cuts

The garrison commander is seeking feedback on the potential impact of a smaller Army.

Fort Meade this week will host one of two discussions surrounding the potential impact of government budget cuts.

Installation Commander Col. Edward Rothstein will hold a "listening session" Thursday, to get feedback on the Army's plan to reduce and reorganize its force structure. The session will feature comments from members of the Fort Meade Community Covenant Council, which is made up of military, civil and elected officials near Fort Meade and throughout Maryland.

Maj. Gen. Michael S. Linnington, commander of the Military District of Washington, will also be in attendance.
