Four people were selected to serve as liaisons between Severn schools and the Board of Education as part of the newly structured Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC).
The newly appointed individuals will serve on a 29-member panel that will work with county parent groups and the board to address key educational issues.

The four CAC members representing local schools were chosen out of more than 70 applicants county-wide, according to the School Board’s president, Patricia Nalley.
“We are very pleased with the outpouring of interest in these positions,” Nalley said in a release from Anne Arundel County Public Schools.
Nalley said the large number of applicants, “Is a clear indication of how much parents and others across our county want to be involved in the education of our children. The Board is eager to begin working with this new group as we collectively seek to move our school system forward.”
The release stated that the committee of representatives will hold its first meeting at 9 a.m., Oct. 13, at the Parham Building in Annapolis, located at 2644 Riva Road.
