High Schoolers Attend Summer Camp at DISA
Twenty sophomores from North County, Meade and South River High took part in the program at Fort Meade this week.

A group of high schoolers from Anne Arundel County this week took part in a summer camp hosted by the Defense Information Systems Agency at Fort Meade.Â
Twenty sophomores from North County, Meade and South River high schools attended the four-day Summer Technology and Engineering Program: Uncovering Potential (STEP UP) camp.Â
The goal of the camp was to offer practical applications in science and math.Â
According to a report on DISA's website, campers got lessons in digital forensics, cryptography, cyber safety, computer graphics and visualization, engineering, and Website design. Many of the sessions were taught by DISA employees.Â
The students who attended the camp are now eligible to take part in a special program allowing them to come to a DISA worksite and meet with mentors one day per week for two to three hours.
