Inmate Killed At Jessup Prison, Suspect Awaiting Charges: Police
An inmate was killed at a Jessup prison, police said. Authorities have a suspect, but charges are still pending.
JESSUP, MD — A person who was incarcerated at a Jessup prison was killed, the Maryland State Police announced this week.
Troopers on Tuesday identified the victim as Warren Michael Griffin, a 61-year-old who was serving time at the Jessup Correctional Institute.
Griffin died at the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, authorities said.

Police said they identified another inmate as a suspect in the homicide. Charges have not yet been filed against the suspect, so troopers are withholding his name.
Last Friday, the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services Internal Investigative Unit contacted the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit about an inmate's death.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled the death as a homicide, a press release said.
The Maryland State Police is still investigating.
Troopers will then present their findings to the Anne Arundel County State's Attorney's Office, which will determine whether charges should be filed.
