Kingdom Kare Center Set To Open In Odenton

The non-profit day care facility will offer 53 spots, including 12 for infants.

Parents in the area will soon have another option for child care, as Kingdom Kare prepares to open in Odenton.

The non-profit facility held an open house on Friday at its Blair Road location and is expected to open in about two weeks. It will offer 53 spots for kids up to age 4, including 12 infant spots.

Kingdom Kare is affiliated with the Kingdom Celebration Life Center church, which is next door. The church raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to build the center. BB&T also came through with donations of kids supplies.

Church leaders Barbara and Antonio Palmer were on hand with county officials for a ribbon-cutting Friday. Barbara Palmer said the center already has 20 children registered. If things to well, Palmer said Kingdom Kare could expand into an adjacent vacant space on the other side of the church.

Barbara Palmer also said she is looking to partner with the YWCA on reserving free spots at Kingdom Kare for domestic violence victims in need of child care.
