Local Students Earn $2,500 Scholarship Awards
Adan Rodriguez of Arundel High and Phylesia Fralin of Meade High were recognized by the National Achievement Scholarship Program.

Two students from the Odenton area have received $2,500 college scholarships as part of a national program targeting talented African-American students.
Adan Rodriguez of Arundel High School will use the award to pursue film production in college, while Phylesia Fralin of Meade High School will pursue accounting.
The pair were selected out of about 800 students nationwide as part of the National Achievement Scholarship Program. The award is based on performance on the PSAT.

Last June, Odenton-Severn Patch profiled Rodriguez after he finished first in the student division at the Frederick Film Festival.
