Updated: Patron Injured in Altercation with Security at Cancun Cantina

The incident took place Saturday night around 7:50 p.m.

A 30-year-old man sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries Saturday night in an altercation with “bouncers” at Cancun Cantina, according to Anne Arundel County Fire Department spokesman Chief Michael Cox.

The man was seen urinating in the parking lot outside the popular nightclub located at the 7500 block of Old Telegraph Road, said Justin Mulcahy, a spokesman for the Anne Arundel County Police Department, in an email to Patch.

"Security guards apparently were attempting to escort an intoxicated subject from the property after he was urinating in the parking lot," Mulcahy said.

After being confronted by security, the 30-year-old fought back but was then restrained until police officers arrived around 7:45 p.m. Mulcahy said the man suffered a small laceration during the incident, resulting in serious but not life-threatening injuries.

"I believe the gentleman was injured as a result between the bouncers and an altercation with him," Cox said.
