Marathon Explosions: 6 Local Runners on Race List

Patch is awaiting word on the safety of runners following a deadly explosion near the finish line. People from the Odenton and Severn area can use Red Cross Safe and Well site.

At least three people died and dozens were hurt in explosions near the finish line of the Boston Marathon on Monday afternoon.

There were at least six runners from the Odenton-Severn area who were on the entry list for the race. To learn if they have been found safe, you can check the Red Cross "Safe and Well" website to see if they have registered there.

  • Alysha Sewall, Dan Nichols and Leslie Burge of Odenton. 
  • Tammie Wonning of Severn
  • Daniel Proulx of Hanover
  • Gene Severtson of Gambrills

According to the Boston Marathon's online tracker, Wonning finished the race in 3 hours, 59 minutes, right around the time of the explosions.

Nichols and Severtson finished in just more than 3 hours, while Proulx finished in about 3 hours, 30 minutes.

There was no tracking data listed for Sewall. Burge finished the half-marathon in about 2 hours 17 minutes.
