Meade Defensive End Picked for All-American Game
Niquekko Cook will play in the NUC All-American game in December.

A defensive standout on Meade High's football team has been invited to play in a national all-star game this winter.Â
Niquekko Cook, a rising senior and defensive end, will play in the National Underclassman All-American Game in Myrtle Beach in December, according to Meade head coach Rich Holzer.Â
Cook gained attention after a strong junior season at Meade, when he helped lead the Mustangs to the Class 4A East Regional title.Â
The Washington Post reported in June that Cook was getting some interest from coaches Football Bowl Subdivision schools, including Wake Forest. He's also received an offer from Old Dominion. Coach Rich Holzer told the Post that Cook may be tested at tight end this fall.Â
The NUC All-American Game and Performance Week will take place from Dec. 27-30. Â
Meade opens the season Sept. 6 against Glen Burnie.Â
