New Digital Archive Offers Glimpse at History
The Digital Public Library of America offers access to millions of documents and images, including some related to Odenton and Severn

A new digital archive has made more than 2 million items available for viewing online, including dozens related to the towns of Odenton and Severn.
The new Digital Library of America allows access to documents and images that members of the public may have previously found hard to find. The archive allows access to a wide range of collections from the Library of Congress to the Smithsonian and more local libraries.
A search for Odenton resulted in 10 items. There were three documents outlining the election districts in the area from 1940. (Not that interesting, frankly.)

There were also seven images in the archives, all of them related to a memorial ceremony in 2002 for an intelligence analyst who died in the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. The photos, taken at a ceremony at the Piney Orchard Community Center, feature military leaders and relatives of Navy Lt. Jonas Panik.
The archive found 52 results for Severn, though nearly all of the results were relating to the Severn River, not the town.
