New Flight At BWI Airport Connects MD With Pacific Northwest

A new flight is landing at BWI Airport. This seasonal service will whisk Marylanders to the Pacific Northwest.

LINTHICUM, MD — A new flight is landing at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.

BWI announced Friday that Alaska Airlines is launching direct flights between Baltimore and Portland International Airport in Oregon.

The daily, seasonal service debuts on May 13, 2026.

"If Portland, Oregon has been on your travel wish list, here's a new opportunity to finally explore the area!" BWI Airport said on Facebook.

Service between BWI and the Beaver State has had several developments in recent months.

Spirit Airlines started flying from Baltimore to Portland, Oregon, in May 2024. OregonLive, however, reported that Spirit ceased operations in Portland earlier this month amid the airline's bankruptcy proceedings.

Southwest Airlines began seasonal flights between Baltimore and Portland, Oregon, this June.
