Old Mill Defense Shines, Holds Broadneck to Zero

The Old Mill Patriots proved why they're favorites to make the playoffs this year after outlasting Broadneck High in a stalemate-type showdown.

In , the Patriots held the Bruins to zero points after four quarters, making their 10-point lead more than enough to start the season 1-0. 

Neither team could find the endzone in the first half, but it was Old Mill that capitalized in the third quater with a field goal by Matt Lampe and a rushing touchdown by Rob Chesson. 

After that, neither team scored again. 

The win was a bit of redemption for Old Mill after the Patriots were eliminated from the playoffs by Broadneck in November of last year, despite beating them one week earlier. 

The Patriots' travel to Severna Park on Friday, Sept. 9 to go for a 2-0 start to the season.
