Revenue at Maryland Live! Jumps 16 Percent
The increase is in line with revenue gains at casinos elsewhere in Maryland.

The Maryland Live! casino in Hanover saw revenue increase by more than 16 percent in March, while the two other casinos in the state saw similar gains.
Maryland Live!, the state's largest casino with more than 4,100 slot machines, saw revenue rise from $38,335,308 to $44,613,545.
The Maryland Lottery reported $56,582,630 in slots revenue statewide during March, up from $47,767,536 in February.

In addition, the Hollywood Casino in Perryville reported $1,465,763 in revenue from table games introduced in March.

Excluding Maryland Live!, which opened in June of 2012, casino revenue dropped $4,368,688 or about 27 percent compared to March of last year.
Here's a look at the slot revenue for each casino in February and March.
Casino revenue was distributed to a variety of places, including horse racing purse accounts, local impact grants and small and minority businesses.
The breakdown of distribution for slots revenue was as follows:
- $18.67 million to casinos
- $27,86 million to the Education Trust Fund
- $3.96 million to horse racing purse accounts
- $3.11 million to local impact grants
- $990,000 to racetrack renewals
- $1.13 million to the Maryland Lottery
- $848,739 to small, minor and women-owned businesses
In addition, table games revenue from Hollywood Casino directed $293,152 to the Education Trust Fund, woith $1,172,610 retained by the casino. Under legislation passed last year and approved by voters in November, casino operators keep a larger share of table games revenue than slots revenue.
