Police said the 20-year-old reportedly stole an air conditioning unit from Delmont United Methodist Church and was in possession of about $160 worth of suspected heroin.

A Severn man was arrested Tuesday morning for reportedly stealing an air conditioning unit from the Delmont United Methodist Church and scrapping it for parts, according to police. Alexander Brown, 20, of Somerset Road faces multiple charges.
According to a press release from Anne Arundel County Police, officers were tipped around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday that a man was cutting wires from the air conditioning unit outside the church, located at the 1200 block of Delmont Road.
Officers were given a description of the suspect by a witness and based on the details, detectives gave police an estimated address based on the suspect's physical and vehicle description.

Police made the arrest when they arrived at the address given to them by detectives as Brown was arriving at his home. However, by the time Brown was arrested, detectives said the air conditioning unit had already been recycled and scrapped for metal parts.
Brown was also found to also be in possession of 1.6 grams of suspected heroin worth about $160, said police, and charges against him include fourth-degree burglary, theft, trespassing and possession with intent to sell.
