Severn Man Pleads Guilty to Killing Virginia Resident

Roger K. Clark III pleaded guilty Tuesday to the murder of Carl Diener, a 57-year-old Arlington resident from Virginia.

A 20-year-old from Severn pleaded guilty to killing a Virginia man Tuesday in an Arlington County Circuit Court, according to The Washington Post.

Roger K. Clark III was in connection with a Dec. 29, 2009, homicide of Carl Diener, a 57-year-old Arlington resident, who was found outside a health club.

Just a few days before his trial was set to begin, Clark pleaded guilty to first-degree murder.

In a town that recorded just one homicide in 2010, Diener’s death came as a shock to the community. Close family and friends collected about $25,000 for information that would lead to an arrest following the local man’s death.
