Severn Man Tried To Hit Cop With Car, Got Arrested: Police
Police say the driver tried to hit detectives with his car while driving off. He and his passenger were arrested on drug and gun charges.
SEVERN, MD — Two Severn men are in jail after an incident police say began when the driver tried to hit detectives with his car Wednesday morning. Daeshawn Cornelius Evans, 25, and Anthony Chandler Godbolt, 23, were arrested soon after 10 a.m.
Police say detectives stopped the car, which Evans was driving, on Pioneer Drive near Arwell Court. As they walked to the car, Evans tried to hit them with the car, a release from the Anne Arundel County Police Department says, while trying to drive away.
Police caught up and Evans' car "became disabled," the release says, a short distance away. Police arrested Evans and Godbolt on the spot.

In the car, police say they found a loaded Glock 22 with 11 rounds and 20 packages of gummy candy edibles, which police estimated has a street value of $400.
Evans was charged with three counts of first-degree assault, possession of a controlled substance (narcotics) with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance (not marijuana), distribution of controlled substances with a firearm, possession of a firearm during the commission of a drug/traffic crime, handgun in a vehicle and loaded handgun in a vehicle.

Godbolt was charged with possession of 10 or more grams of marijuana, distribution of controlled substances with a firearm, possession of a firearm during the commission of a drug/traffic crime, handgun in a vehicle and loaded handgun in a vehicle.
